Within the Parish, there is a long choral tradition that continues to this day. There are two very active choirs, one at St. Nicolas, and one at St. Michaels. Here you'll find further details about those choirs and their activities, and other musical events that are taking place within the parish and beyond.

St. Michael's & All Angels Church Choir

St. Michael's has long enjoyed a strong choral tradition, one which today's choir are continuing to maintain to the highest standards under their organist and Director of Music, Colin Davey. An all-age choir that is currently 24-strong, the choir support the church regularly during Sunday morning and evening worship, as well as participating in festivals, and the occasional "guest appearance" at other churches both near and far.

Treble Rebels

Treble Rebels is a new junior choir that will sing a wide range of music, mainly in the English Anglican Choral Tradition. Meeting every Wednesday evening, from 6.30pm to 7.45pm, the choir is open to anyone aged 7 to 16 who wants to sing.

The choir plans to sing regularly at St. Michael's, sing at weddings, and attend Royal School of Church Music events - singing in places such as Winchester Cathedral and Romsey Abbey. In addition, the choir plan to go on regular trips to places such as Thorpe Park, and have summer trips planned to UK cathedrals.

Although it has only just formed, there are great plans for the choir. The choir is free to join, but note that places are strictly limited. So if you are interested, or want more details, then please contact Colin Davey.

Treble Rebels have their own web-site at www.treblerebels.org.

St. Nicolas Church Choir

St Nicolas Choir is a small but dedicated group of church members who assist at the singing of Sunday morning services. A weekly practice is normally held on Fridays, between 7.30 and 8.30 pm. A supplemented choir is often available to assist at weddings by request. For informal enquiries, or more details of choir activities, please contact the Rector, John Owen.
